r9 290 vid card reviews

Postby =XE=CyStriker » Thu Nov 07, 2013 5:59 pm

More detailed reviews are comnng out regarding the 290 vid Amd card.....  The problem with the heat is the stock cooler by AMD... authors suggest wait for the 3rd party vendors for their cooling solutions.... He loved the card other than the heat...  also the 290X uses AMD stock coolers.... again perceived heat problem...

Gents:

I believe I was successful in canceling my order of the AMD R9 290 video card with stock cooler.   I decided to wait for 3rd party venders to offer the card with better cooling options... which will allow the card to run cooler and w/o as much noise.    It will also allow oc of the gpu .. which I h ave no interest in doing.

I need to confirm the card will run in Crossfire in an older mb system I have until I upgrade from a I920 and mb sys to a I 4770K and motherboard system with new board mem.....?

Hound was set on water cooling solutions....  Kadance and EK have announced full water blocks... but I prefer an improved air cooling solution to water blocks....
